State Level Seminar at GFGC, Mudipu

          Govt. First Grade College, Mudipu, organised a state level seminar on “Understanding by Design: A new Pedagogical Experiment and Importance of Theatrics in Teaching” on 6th Jan 2024. Dr Harikrishnan G, Vice Principal, Ms Muneera and Ms Laveena, Asst. Professors in English, Ms Krithika, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Food Sciences, Mr Mohammed Sali Asham and Mr Sajir Ahmed, Asst. Professors, Dept. of Commerce & Management, Ms Azweena and Mr Sachin Giri, Asst. Professors, Dept. of Computer Applications attended the seminar In the inaugural session Dr. Giridhar Rao, Former Additional Director, DCE, Bengaluru delivered Key Note address. Noted, corporate trainer and accomplished academician Dr Sudhir Raj, Professor- Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management conducted the first session by rightly reiterating the philosophy of teaching. Transformation of teaching from teacher centric approach to student centric approach was highlighted in his talk. Second session by Mr Jagan Pawar, Theatre Teacher and Director, Sanketha Trust, Mangalore explained the importance of theatrics in teaching through hands-on training. Teachers involved in different types of theatrical skills like voice modulation, facial expression and gestures that are required to be an effective teacher. In the last session delegates presented research papers on pedagogical issues. Ms Muneera, Asst. Professor in English presented a paper on “Methods of teaching for Effective Learning.” The seminar served its purpose of introducing new methodology of teaching by understanding different facets.
