HOD Message

Department of Science, P.A. First Grade College (PAFGC) was established in the year 2017 and within a short span of about three years, it has established itself as a leading place for education with its contributions in the emerging areas of Food Sciences and Food Nutrition. Apart from fundamental knowledge, the Department aims to meet the targeted demands to cater the requirements of Food technology-based industries.

The Department currently offers three-year B.Sc. (undergraduate) teaching programmes in Food Technology (FT) and Food, Nutrition and Dietetics (FND). The Department is unique in imparting quality education and providing an excellent teaching environment through its ongoing programmes coupled with a research programme recently launched across through CRIE. Extensive facility and infrastructure have been developed to support its on-going teaching and newly launched research activities. Further, to cater to needs of academic and industry, capacity building in terms of training manpower is one of the main mandates of the department.

Department is also committed to provide an environment for the overall development of the students and hence high emphasis is laid on the mass participation of students in many extra-curricular and association activities.

The journey has just begun and there are many miles to go. We welcome all to be a part of this

Department has not only improved its quality of research by publishing high quality papers in reputed journals but also has a strong science outreach programme. Department faculties are committed towards the ethos of overall progress and development of the Institute and have brought accolades not only for themselves, for the Department but for the Institute in a bigger frame.
