Anti-Ragging Policy

P. A. First Grade College has a strong Anti- Ragging Policy and there is an extremely diligent Cell that is constituted for Monitoring and curbing the Ragging issues. Ragging in any form, physical, mental, emotional, psychological, etc. is strictly banned inside the campus. Strict action would be taken against those who wilfully engage in ragging. Suspension is the first action that is taken against the offender. No leniency will be shown to the offender. All students and parents should be very familiar with the anti-ragging policy of the College, and extend their whole hearted support in this mission toward a ragging free campus.

What is ragging? Source

  • Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or a junior student.
  • Indulging in a rowdy or undisciplined activity which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student.
  • Asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.

Please note that under the Karnataka Education Act of 1983, ragging is a criminal offence and punishable with one-year imprisonment.
