Workshop on Innovative Techniques in AI and ML

Feb 18, 2025 - Feb 18, 2025

The workshop on "AI and ML Innovative Techniques" was conducted on 18th February 2025 at Seminar Hall 02 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This event was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Department of Computer Applications and IT Association. The purpose of the workshop was to introduce students to the advanced techniques of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and to demonstrate their application in various domains. The workshop was hosted by Ms. Safwa Nisaar from II BCA, who served as the MC for the event. It began with a Welcome Speech by Ms. Khadeejath Suhaiba, who set the tone for the session. Dr. Surfraz J. Hasim, the Principal, officially inaugurated the workshop and encouraged students to enroll in relevant courses to further explore AI and ML. Dr. G. Harikrishnan, the Vice Principal, discussed how AI and ML could enhance education through personalized learning and real-time feedback, urging students to leverage these tools for academic growth. Mr. Mohammed Faizal, a faculty guest, also shared insights on the potential of these technologies in education. The main session was delivered by Dr. Sayed Abdulhayan, a renowned Research Professor at P.A. College of Engineering. Dr. Abdulhayan is an expert in the fields of AI and ML, and his presentation provided the students with a deep understanding of the advanced concepts and applications of these technologies. Dr. Abdulhayan started his session by discussing the role of data in AI and ML. He explained how AI and ML rely heavily on large datasets to train models and improve their accuracy. He emphasized that the quality and quantity of the data used are crucial in building effective AI and ML systems. The importance of data preprocessing, cleaning, and feature selection was also highlighted. The session continued with a detailed discussion on stepwise techniques for implementing Machine Learning (ML). Dr. Abdulhayan outlined the entire ML workflow, starting from the problem definition and data collection phase to the model training, evaluation, and deployment stages. He provided students with practical advice on how to approach machine learning projects, including selecting the appropriate algorithms, optimizing hyperparameters, and validating the model’s performance..The event concluded with a Thank You Speech by Ms. Fathima, expressing gratitude to all attendees and the resource person.
