One day FDP on Transforming Classroom Practice: Strategies for Effective Teaching and Learning

           The School of Social Work (Autonomous), Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic "Transforming Classroom Practice: Strategies for Effective Teaching and Learning" at the Seminar Hall on 11th January 2025. The session was led by Prof. Joselyn Lobo, a retired Dean and Professor in Social Work, and a seasoned trainer. The programme focused on essential educational concepts, including pedagogical teaching methods, VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) models of learning, the role of senses in education, and the 4Cs of teaching (Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking). These topics were explored through a variety of interactive activities that emphasized creative thinking, effective communication, and collaborative learning. Over 60 participants attended the session, including prominent figures from Roshni Nilaya, such as Dr. Sophia N. Fernandes, Principal; Dr. Saritha D’Souza, IQAC Coordinator; and Dr. Rosa N. Mathew, IQAC Co-Coordinator. Representatives from P.A. First Grade College, including Ms. Vanishree Y, IQAC Coordinator, and Assistant Professors Ms. Ramyashree, Ms. Chaithanya, and Ms. Reshma from the Department of Commerce and Management, were also present. The programme provided valuable insights and practical strategies to enhance teaching practices, fostering a more engaging and effective learning environment.
