On the 12th of November 2024, the vibrant campus of P.A. First Grade College (PAFGC) was abuzz with excitement as it hosted Campus Chroma, a national-level talent fest for Pre- University College (PUC) students. As part of this grand fest, the Department of Food Sciences presented Dietec 6.0, an engaging competition designed to test and celebrate students' culinary skills and artistic creativity. Under the able coordination of Ms. Anfha Nishad, Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Sciences, the event comprised three unique competitions: Cooking Confessions – A challenge to prepare dishes without fire, Tasty Task – A competition showcasing cooking skills using fire, Fruit Art Gallery – A contest dedicated to the art of fruit carving. The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 22 teams competing in Cooking Confessions, 19 teams in Tasty Task, and 12 teams in Fruit Art Gallery. Each team brought forward their creativity, passion, and skills, making the event a memorable one. Cooking Confessions focused on creating innovative dishes without fire. This event pushed participants to explore their creativity and present unique, flavorful creations. The competition was judged by Ms. Ahalya S. Nambiar, Lecturer in Computer Science and Engineering, P.A. Polytechnic College, and Dr. Megha Mohanan K.V, Assistant Professor at P.A. College of Physiotherapy. Ms. Sreelakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Sciences, co- coordinated this event, ensuring its smooth execution. First Prize: Ms. Amulya H. Nayak and Ms. Christina Goveus from St. Aloysius P.U. College, Mangalore. Second Prize: Ms. Kadeejath Mahfoosa and Ms. Aysha Shazma from Hira Women’s Composite P.U. College. Tasty Task showcased the participants’ culinary skills through the use of fire, demanding not just creativity but also technical expertise. The competition was judged by Ms. Ayshath Shameema, Lecturer in Computer Science and Engineering, P.A. Polytechnic, and Mr. Mohammed Sali Asham, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce and Management, PAFGC. Ms. Anfha Nishad served as the coordinator of this event, guiding the participants and ensuring a fair and organized competition. First Prize: Ms. Ishra Aleema and Ms. Fathima from Kanachur P.U. College. Second Prize: Ms. Ayesha Shameeha and Ms. Hamna from K. Padyaraj P.U. College, Ballal. The Fruit Art Gallery showcased the creative talent of participants through the intricate and beautiful art of fruit carving. Participants amazed the audience and judges with their stunning and imaginative designs. The competition was judged by Ms. Usha Kumari and Ms. Ananya K. Iyer, both Assistant Professors at P.A. Polytechnic. The event was coordinated by Ms. Krithika, Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Sciences, who ensured that the competition ran smoothly. First Prize: Ms. Sara Shaziya and Ms. Aysha Reem from Hira women’s college. Second prize: Ms. Norisha and Ms. Aleemath Athifa from Vishwamangal P.U College.
