World Suicide Prevention Day Programme

            On 10 september 2024, the internal quality Assurance cell (iqac), in association with The human rights association and national Service scheme (nss), observed world Suicide prevention day. The program aimed To educate students on suicide prevention. Ms. Kaneez fathima, teen-parent Relationship coach and founder of doer's Success, mangaluru was the chief guest. The Program was held at the e-learning centre. The objective of the program was to Empower students with knowledge and Awareness to prevent suicide. Ms. Kaneez Led an informative discussion on: - truths and myths surrounding suicide - warning signs of suicidal behavior - possible factors contributing to suicide, Including examining various risk factors Such as mental health, social, and Environmental influences - creating a school wellness team for suicide Prevention, discussing strategies for Establishing a supportive network within The academic community Vol 3 .04 quarterly newsletter 23 World suicide prevention day programme Over 200 students benefited from this program. The world suicide prevention day Celebration was a resounding success. Ms. Kaneez fathima's expertise and Insightful discussion provided valuable take away for the students. The program Reinforced the importance of addressing mental health and promoting suicide Prevention within the academic community. The program was coordinated by mr. Lohith v, assistant professor, department of Humanities and social sciences, and ms. Chaithra n v, assistant professor, Department of commerce and management.
