Disaster Management Awareness Program

On 27 august 2024, p. A. First grade college organized an insightful Disaster management awareness program at the e-learning centre. The Event was conducted by the internal quality assurance cell (iqac) in Association with the national service scheme (nss) and youth red cross (yrc) units. Mr. Sathyaraj, a professional fire and safety officer was the Resource person for the program. The event was graced by the presence of dr. Surfraz j. Hasim, principal, Dr. G. Harikrishnan, vice principal, ms. Vanishree y, iqac coordinator, mr. Arif, ms. Ithashree, and ms. Chaithra n. V, nss program officers, and ms. Sara maskurunissa, yrc coordinator, along with other esteemed faculty Members. The program commenced with a prayer led by mr. Mohammed ashik From 2nd year bba, setting a reflective tone for the session. Ms. Amani Amreen from 3rd yea bca welcomed the gathering, while ms. Shafna Sherin from 3rd year bca compered the program. Mr. Sathyaraj, a professional fire and safety officer from mangalore and a Key figure in the "Safety first abhiyan" campaign, emphasized that "We Should be safe for city safety," underscoring the importance of individual Responsibility in ensuring broader community safety. His session included A live demonstration on the proper use of a fire extinguisher and a Practical demonstration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (cpr), which Captivated the audience. He also stressed the importance of spreading Awareness as a part of "Ek bharat shreshtha bharat" initiative, Encouraging all participants to share their newfound knowledge within Their communities. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by mr. Ayman Basheer from 3rd year bba, who acknowledged mr. Sathyaraj's invaluable Contribution and the support of all attendees. The program was attended By 156 students. The event was successful in raising awareness and equipping participants With crucial disaster response skills.
