ANTI-RAGGING & ANTI-DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAMME

P.A. First Grade College and P.A. College ofrnPharmacy collaboratively organized anrnAwareness Program on Anti-Drug and AntiRagging on October 5, 2023. The initiativernaimed to educate and sensitize studentsrnabout the dangers of drug abuse and thernsignificance of preventing ragging onrneducational institutions.The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr.rnB P Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Commissionerrnof Police(Crime & Traffic), Mangaluru, andrnGuest of Honour, Dr. Maji Jose, DeputyrnDirector, Centre for Substance AbusernPreventions, Dean- Student Affairs,rnYenepoya (Deemed to be University). Thernprogram witnessed active participationrnfrom students and faculty members ofrnboth institutions. Mr. B P Dinesh Kumar, in his inaugural address, emphasized the crucial role of lawrnenforcement in combating drug-related issues and maintaining a safe academicrnenvironment. He shed light on the evolving challenges posed by drug trafficking andrnstressed the need for collective efforts to curb this menace.Dr. Maji Jose, Guest of Honour, brought an academic perspective to the event. Shernshared insights into the psychological and health impacts of drug abuse and highlightedrnthe importance of awareness, early intervention, and support systems for students facingrnsubstance abuse challenges. Dr. Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC, in his presidential address, urged students tornspeak out against drugs and ragging. He advised them to support the law enforcementrnsystem by providing information on incidents happening around.Program Highlights: The program beganrnwith the invocation by Mr. Shahil Ismailrnfrom 3rd Year B. Pharma. Dr. SaleemullarnKhan, Principal, PACP, welcomed therngathering, and Dr. Mohammed Mubeen,rnVice-Principal, PACP, proposed the vote ofrnthanks. The program was efficientlyrncompered by Ms. Laveena D’Souza,rnAssistant Professor, PAFGC, and Ms.rnThriveni, Assistant Professor, PACP.
