Converting Total Kitchen Solid Waste into Compost for feeding plants

Environmental Cell of PAFGC initiated a project on converting kitchen solid waste intorncompost on 14th Mar 2023. The earthen harmipot was placed in food preparation lab ofrnFood Science Department, PAFGC, so that the kitchen solid waste can be dropped intornthe earthen harmipot.It requires a minimum of 90 days for the kitchen solid waste to get converted intorncompost. When the compost is ready, it is dried in sunlight for 2 days and then fed tornthe plants. This is a great initiative of PAFGC concerning the environmental factors inrndeveloping the clean and green campus.The project was inaugurated by Prof C V Pujar, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, P ArnCollege of Engineering with the presence of Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC,rnCapt. Rudresh, Campus Supervisor and other staffs of PAFGC on 14th Mar 2023.rnOn 07 Feb 2024, the compost was fed to the plants in the campus.
