          On July 25, 2024, the principal, staff, and students of P.A. First Grade College, Nadupadavu, attended a enlightening session on new criminal law organized by the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangalore. The session commenced at 3:30 PM, setting the stage for an informative discussion. CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, President of KCCI, warmly welcomed the attendees, followed by Shri Anand G Pai, Vice President of KCCI, who introduced the esteemed Chief Guest and Resource Person. Shri Anupam Agrawal, IPS – Police Commissioner, delivered a comprehensive address, highlighting the evolving nature of criminal laws and their far-reaching implications for law enforcement and society. He provided a detailed overview of recent amendments, elucidating the rationale behind these changes. Shri K Prithviraj, Advocate and Immediate Past President of the Mangalore Bar Association, expertly dissected the legal intricacies of the new criminal laws. He shed light on three pivotal laws: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarika Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), explaining the changes in an accessible and engaging manner. A lively interactive session ensued, allowing participants to pose questions and seek clarifications from the Resource Person. P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Honorary Secretary of KCCI, extended his gratitude to the attendees and organizers, bringing the session to a close. The event concluded on a positive note, with participants gaining a deeper understanding of the new criminal laws and their significance.”
